The MKVI Ground Sheet was issued to all British soldiers from 1915 into the 1940s. This multi-use bit of kit, rubberised one side, could be used as a waterproof ground sheet, a 'Basha', due to the 18 punched eyelets along the perimeter of the sheet (impromptu tent) and up until the MKVII Rain Cape was introduced, as a rain cape itself, using string or rope to hold it together around the neck.
Each sheet measures 190cm x 85cm.
